Marlin Steel has experienced growth despite the current economic slump because they export their
wire baskets and fabricated metal products
to industry around the globe. Drew Greenblatt, President of Marlin Steel Wire Products, encourages
American small businesses to expand exporting products to other countries.

DREW GREENBLATT >>
A lot of people should pursue exporting. It's 20% of our revenue.
Our employees have more ballast; they don't care if they're
making wire baskets or sheet metal fabrications for a client
in Duluth or a client in Montreal. They just want to
keep having a secure job and health insurance.
I think this is a great avenue for America to pursue.
As you mentioned before, only 1% of American companies export.
In Germany, 41% of their GDP is focused on exporting out of their
country. America is only 11%. Canada is 28%. We could certainly
hit President Obama's goals; I think that doubling in 5 years
is very attainable and if we were to accomplish that, we would
kill the recession.
