Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) Education ConceptThe Science, Technology, Engineering, & Mathematics (STEM) program is an educational program for middle schoolers that emphasizes the importance of teamwork, inquiry-based learning, and career awareness.

A major focus of the program is to go beyond the classroom to learn from professionals in STEM-related industries. As noted by the Anne Arundel County Public Schools Magnet Program, “STEM students will have the opportunity to engage in high level, meaningful and relevant STEM experiences collaboratively facilitated both by teachers and STEM professionals.”

Marlin Steel wholeheartedly supports programs such as STEM because they help to shape the next generation of American manufacturing workers, scientists, and entrepreneurs.

Recently, Marlin Steel hosted a group of students from Old Mill Middle South’s STEM program. The students were active, smart, and engaged—asking great questions and sharing their excitement for robotics and entrepreneurship.

In fact, the students put together a video presentation about their trip to Marlin’s Baltimore-based factory on Animoto.com!

It’s our hope here at Marlin Steel that the students found their visit to be informative and inspiring. These students are the future of our country, and programs like STEM help prepare them for the modern workplace by instilling the confidence and skills they’ll need to succeed in the future.

Thanks again to the STEM program students of Old Mill Middle South for visiting, and we hope to see you again in the future!
