Use Autodesk Inventor to design products and recommend changes in designs, tolerances or processing methods.
Complete projects on time based on the engineering and production schedule
Perform product inspections that adhere to quality standards set by Marlin Steel and/or clients
Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing and direct production
Understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Computer aided design (CAD) software
Production and processing – knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods
Interpreting mechanical drawings, designs and models
Experience with AutoCad Inventor or SolidWorks
Employees have to be flexible and able to handle and prioritize several activities/projects at once
Past experience in fabricated metal products is a plus
Ability to improve our process is a definite plus
Problem solving, project management and analytical skills, Ability to utilize sound business judgment.

After 31 years of service at Marlin Steel Wire Products, Hector Carmona has retired. In 1998, Hector was one of eight employees who moved with us from Brooklyn to Baltimore.
