A leading automobile and consumer products manufacturer turned repeatedly to Marlin Steel for material handling containers to help carry out its research and development. Marlin produced a basket with a latchable lid that Honda’s rapid prototyping group uses to help produce 3-D models of its computer-aided designs.
The stainless steel basket holds up to the chemical bath that dissolves excess resin from the 3-D sculptures Honda creates to test the form and fit of new product features. The baskets had to be large enough to accommodate a wide range of additive manufacturing prototypes. The client also needed the baskets quickly. Marlin delivered.
