Fabtech-logoOn Wednesday, November 12, Marlin Steel will be present at the FABTECH 2014 industrial expo’s Educational Program at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. This program, which is co-sponsored by the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association International (FMA), the Society of Mechanical Engineers (SME), and the Chemical Coaters Association International (CCAI), is designed to offer attendees “practical knowledge you can use right away.”

This year, the organizations that run the FABTECH Educational Program have invited Marlin Steel’s company president to give a presentation on “Using Wire Baskets to Solve Material Handling and Part Fabrication Process Problems” on Wednesday, November 12 from 9:20 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

As the name implies, the presentation will focus on how manufacturers can use custom wire baskets to streamline certain manufacturing processes and overcome challenges that may be inhibiting productivity. After the main presentation is finished, there will be a short Q&A session where our company president will answer questions about the presentation and metal forming in general.

Reasons to Attend the FABTECH 2014 Educational Program Presentations

For manufacturers who are looking for ways to improve their productivity, attending the FABTECH Expo is an excellent way to find new ideas and products that can help to increase efficiency on the manufacturing floor. Here, you can connect with suppliers and companies that can help your own business to grow and be more successful.

Many companies use shows such as FABTECH’s 2014 Expo to show off their biggest, newest, most exciting products and services. Attending the event can mean getting a leg up on the competition by finding that amazing new resource and putting it to use first.

For engineers seeking FMA recertification credits, there is even more incentive to attend the event. Not only can you get tips and advice from leading members of the metal fabrication industry, but you can earn credits for attending the event and specific presentations. Attending the show earns two credits for FMA recertification, and another two credits can be earned for each conference session attended.

Attendees who go to American Welding Society (AWS) presentations can earn one Professional Development Hour (PDH) credit for each hour of education program attendance there. Meanwhile, SME education programs at the expo can earn attendees on credit for each hour attended to be put towards their SME-managed recertification requirements.

In short, whether you’re a manufacturing business owner or an engineer looking for inspiration and easy credits towards your re-certifications, attending the FABTECH 2014 Educational Program’s presentations is a good idea.
