Here's an example of a heavy-duty reinforced wire mesh basket for materials handling. The wires are closely spaced so as to prevent parts from falling through, with a thick wire frame to allow the basket to support heavier loads. 

Large handles on either side allow workers to easily grab onto the basket and move it as needed, even while wearing thick gloves.
